History - NASA: Gemini VIII, This Is Houston Flight

1966. Gemini 8 (Gemini VIII) was the sixth manned spaceflight in NASAs Gemini program. A primary goal of the mission was the historic first docking in space with an Agena target vehicle - this was achieved however not all went as planned, with cameras recording the harrowing experiences of astronauts Neil Armstrong & David Scott as Gemini VIII wildly gyrated through space following a malfunction. The spacecraft was separated from the Agena, brought under control and a successful re-entry was achieved.
