Society - The Maze - Northern Ireland

This ITV documentary looks back at the notorious Maze prison (also known as Long Kesh) - which was used to house thousands of Loyalist and Nationalist paramilitary prisoners during The Troubles in Northern Ireland. The Maze prison was the scene of murders, escapes, riots and the notorious IRA hunger strike of 1981 - when ten terrorists starved themselves to death in a failed attempt to secure concessions from the jail authorities.
