The bombing of the Paradise hotel in Kenya was meant to target Westerners. But it is Kenyas Muslim population who is suffering. Mombassas beautiful beaches stretch as far as the eye can see. But the beaches are all deserted. The Kenyan tourist industry has become a casualty of the War on Terror. In the aftermath of the Paradise bombing, America and England imposed a travel ban to Kenya. Thousands of tourism workers lost their jobs. Kenyan authorities, desperate to prove they were fighting terrorism, started harassing Muslims and arresting hundreds of poor civilians. "Were called terrorists so that we can be targeted," complains one Muslim speaker. Now many Kenyans fear that supporting the war on terrorism is approving a war targeted at Muslims.
