Nature - Britain's Biggest Storm

811

Description

Twenty years ago (1987) Britain was hit by its biggest storm in three centuries - it caused $1 billion in damage and killed 19 people. Personal memories of narrow escapes that night are as riveting now as they were just after the hurricane hit, so the re-enactments here are gripping. Among others, we hear from a woman in Kent who almost gave birth in the road trying to get to hospital (she later named her baby Andrea Gail), the man who made monumental decisions to prevent the national grid crashing, and the weather forecasters who didnt predict the storm. A fantastic reminder of an extraordinary occurrence (If you would like this educational video to be removed, please contact me directly.)
